Every Second, A Color

Created with Javascript and CSS, Every Second, A Color was inspired by Leah Rosenberg’s Everyday, A Color project, where she painted the studio at Irving Street Projects a different color every day, leaving a stripe of the previous color behind. Every Second, A Color is a play on this concept, using the set of 147 CSS Color Keywords to create a time-based web animation, fading in a new color each second, leaving a “stripe” of the previous color visible until cycling through the set. I’ve chosen to arrange the colors in alphabetical order, which gradually creates a unique stripe pattern and interesting color juxtapositions.
