Cube Study Series

This series is a study of the cube using the same materials and technique (collage and colored pencil) as previous works on paper. The shadow gives a sense of three dimensions, while also giving the viewer a hint of where a light source may be positioned. While many of these appear the same, the subtle differences in placement, depth, shadow color and length, and marbling pattern make each of them unique. These were inspired by a set of Sol Lewitt prints on display at SFMOMA. Each collage is one of a kind and was cut and assembled by hand.
